What We Liked
It expands. Most power stations are what they are—you buy 2kWh, you’re stuck with 2kWh. The DELTA 2 Max lets you add up to two extra batteries, bringing total capacity to 6kWh. That’s enough to run a fridge for nearly two days, or a CPAP for a week.
80-minute charging. Let’s be clear: 2048Wh in 80 minutes is ridiculous. That’s charging at over 1500W from a wall outlet. Most competitors take 4-6 hours for the same capacity. EcoFlow has figured out something others haven’t.
1000W solar input. This is where the DELTA 2 Max shines for off-grid use. With a good solar array, you can fully recharge in 2-3 hours of direct sunlight. That makes extended off-grid living genuinely feasible.
2400W output with X-Boost to 3000W. This runs almost anything in a typical house. Microwave? Yes. Toaster? Yes. Hair dryer on high? Yes. Space heater? For a few hours. The output is real—you’re not babysitting wattage limits.
6 AC outlets. Six. That’s enough for fridge, TV, router, lamp, phone charger, and laptop without reaching for a power strip.
What Could Be Better
50 pounds is not portable. This thing has wheels on the bottom and a telescoping handle like a suitcase. Use them. Carrying it by the side handle for more than 30 feet will make you question your life choices.
Expansion batteries are pricey. The DELTA 2 Max Extra Battery runs about $800. Two of them plus the base unit and you’re at nearly $3,000. Still cheaper than a whole-home generator, but not cheap.
Overkill for casual use. If you’re just charging phones on camping trips, this is like buying a semi truck to pick up groceries. The RIVER 2 Max exists for a reason.

Who Should Buy This
RV owners. The DELTA 2 Max fits in most RV storage compartments and provides enough power for days of boondocking. The solar input is high enough to keep up with actual use.
Home backup for real outages. Not “my phone died” outages—actual, multi-day, grid-down situations. With expansion batteries, you can keep essential appliances running for a week.
Off-grid cabins and work sites. 2400W output runs power tools. 1000W solar input means daytime recharging. Add expansion batteries and you’ve got legitimate off-grid infrastructure.
Who should look elsewhere: Weekend car campers, day-trippers, anyone who doesn’t need to run appliances. The RIVER 2 Max or regular RIVER 2 is more appropriate.
The Verdict
The DELTA 2 Max sits in a weird spot. It’s too heavy to be casually portable, but too small to replace a whole-home generator. And yet, for a specific kind of person—RV owners, rural dwellers, serious off-gridders—it’s exactly right.
David Thompson’s wife called it “paranoid.” After five days without power, she called it “essential.”
That’s the thing about the DELTA 2 Max. You hope you never need it. But when you do, you’re really, really glad you have it.
